When you have a really nice piece of pork shoulder and no time to cook it – slow cook it in the crock pot on low for some delicious, melts in your mouth pulled pork
Recipe:
Place a layer of thick slices of onion (1/3 medium-large red onion) & lemon (1 lemon) on bottom of crock pot. Place pork shoulder on top with fatty side facing up ⬆️. Season well with sea salt & pepper.
Cook on low for 4.5-5 hrs. Then pour your favorite BBQ sauce over the pork ( ~ 3/4 bottle of bbq sauce). We used @gourmet_warehouse Cherry Jalapeño BBQ sauce and it made for an amazing pairing.
Cook on low for another 2 hours.
Pull the pork apart with 2 large forks and mix well with the sauce in the pot.
Serve with a red cabbage & cucumbers salad dressed with avocado oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt.
